静寂のコンポジション

この住宅は、風景と共に生きるための「静かな器」である。 水平線、遠くに連なる丘陵、そして夜空に浮かぶ星々。建築はそれらの自然を受け止め、暮らしの背景として静かに佇む存在であるべきだと考えた。「自然と共に暮らしたい」という願いを起点に、素材、開口、動線、光の扱いを一つずつ丁寧に再構成した住宅である。

建物は二層の矩形で構成されている。上階は白い左官仕上げとし、光を柔らかく受け止める表情を与えた。下階は黒の壁とし、大地との連続性を意識した。白と黒という対照的な素材は、風景の移ろいを映し出すキャンバスとして機能し、晴れの日、雨の日、朝と夜で異なる表情を見せる。建築が主張するのではなく、風景の変化を静かに受け止める器であることを目指した。

アプローチには、コンクリートスラブと芝のラインを交互に並べたグリッド状の舗装を採用した。車の動線と人の歩みが交差するこの場所は、外部と内部をつなぐ緩衝地帯であり、日々の始まりと終わりを象徴する場でもある。植栽にはアガベやパーム、グラス類を選び、風に揺れる柔らかな動きと、構造的なフォルムの対比を意識した。建物の直線的な構成に対し、自然の曲線が寄り添うことで、外構全体に静かなリズムが生まれた。

内部空間では「光と影の設計」を主題とした。吹き抜けに面した階段は、鉄骨フレームと無垢材の踏板で構成し、浮遊感のある軽やかな印象を与えている。朝の光が差し込むと、階段の影が壁面に幾何学的な模様を描き、時間の移ろいを視覚的に感じられる空間となった。窓の配置は、風景を切り取るためのフレーミングとして機能するよう計画した。特に上階の角窓は、水面の反射や星空を眺めるための「静かな劇場」として設計したものである。

夜の表情も、この住宅の大きな魅力である。外構照明は植栽と壁面を柔らかく照らし、建物全体が浮かび上がるような印象をつくり出した。星空の下、室内から漏れる暖かな光は、家族の気配を外へとにじませ、風景の中に暮らしの温度を刻む。昼間の静謐さとは異なる、夜だけの親密な表情が生まれるよう意図した。

この住宅は、豪華さを誇示するための建築ではない。むしろ、日々の営みを丁寧に包み込み、風景と親密に暮らすための「静謐な箱庭」である。カラーレーベルデザインオフィスが大切にしてきた「余白の美学」と「風景との親密さ」を体現した住宅であり、建築が風景に溶け込みながら、暮らしをそっと引き立てることを目指した。

This residence is a "quiet vessel" designed to live in harmony with the landscape. The horizon, distant rolling hills, and stars floating in the night sky. We envisioned architecture that embraces these natural elements, quietly standing as a backdrop to daily life. Starting from the desire to "live alongside nature," we meticulously reconfigured every aspect--materials, openings, circulation, and the handling of light--to create this home.
The building consists of two rectangular volumes. The upper floor features white plaster finish, creating a surface that softly receives light. The lower floor has black walls, emphasizing continuity with the earth. These contrasting materials--white and black--function as a canvas reflecting the shifting landscape, revealing different expressions on sunny days, rainy days, mornings, and nights. The aim was not for the architecture to assert itself, but to be a vessel quietly receiving the landscape's changes.
The approach features grid-patterned paving, alternating concrete slabs with lines of turf. This space, where vehicle traffic and pedestrian paths intersect, serves as a buffer zone connecting exterior and interior, symbolizing the beginning and end of each day. Plantings include agave, palms, and grasses, consciously contrasting their soft, swaying movement with the structure's formal forms. The natural curves embracing the building's linear composition create a quiet rhythm throughout the entire exterior.
Inside, the theme is "designing with light and shadow." The staircase facing the double-height space combines a steel frame with solid wood treads, giving it a light, floating impression. When morning light streams in, the staircase's shadow casts geometric patterns on the walls, creating a space where the passage of time is visually felt. Window placements were planned to function as framing devices for capturing the landscape. The corner windows on the upper floor, in particular, were designed as a "quiet theater" for viewing reflections on the water's surface or stargazing.
The nighttime expression is also a major charm of this residence. Exterior lighting softly illuminates the plantings and walls, creating an impression where the entire building seems to float. Beneath the starry sky, warm light spilling from the interior subtly reveals the family's presence, imprinting the warmth of daily life within the landscape. This was intended to create an intimate expression unique to the night, distinct from the daytime tranquility.
This house is not architecture designed to flaunt luxury. Rather, it is a "serene miniature garden" that carefully envelops daily life, allowing intimate coexistence with the surrounding landscape. It embodies the "aesthetics of negative space" and "intimacy with the landscape" cherished by COLOR LABEL DESIGN OFFICE, aiming for architecture that blends into the scenery while gently enhancing daily life.
